Governance framework

Four stages, from published standard to audit trail.

The framework defines how a record is authorised, how it may be corrected, and how the register proves what it has done. Each stage has a named owner and a documented control set.

Framework edition · NVSR-GOV/2026.1
Status · In force
  1. 01
    Standards

The rules the register operates against are written down, versioned and public.

    • 01.1Three published standards: verification, records, data & security
    • 01.2Every clause carries a stable reference and effective date
    • 01.3Editions are frozen and re-issued rather than silently edited

    • 03.3Certificate re-issued with a linked version history

  4. 04
    Audit trails

Every publication, amendment and access decision is logged and inspectable.

    • 04.2Workshop status at time of publication captured on the certificate
    • 04.3Periodic sampling of published records against original evidence
    Owner

Restriction 01

Vehicle records are not sold or licensed to third parties for marketing, valuation or lead generation.

Restriction 02

Workshops cannot purchase prominence, badges or verification. Verified status is a factual determination, never a commercial one.
